Two men were charged at the Montreal courthouse Tuesday in connection with the stabbing of two taxi drivers.  Dean Allen, 21, and Dwayne Allen, 25, are charged with attempted murder, robbery and assault causing injury.  Dwayne Allen is also charged with mischief.  A third suspect is still at large.

Assaults

The violent confrontation began around noon Monday when a man and a woman got into a cab at a taxi stand at Notre Dame and Atwater.

There was an argument, and the taxi driver's throat was slashed.

Police say the two passengers then got out of the vehicle and ran away.

The injured cab driver used his radio to issue an emergency call to other cabbies, and chased the suspects in his car.

He caught up with them a couple of blocks away and happened upon a third suspect along with two other taxis.

There was another altercation, and a second cab driver was stabbed, this time in the stomach.

Police are still looking for the remaining suspect, the woman who originally got into the cab.
