The ex-girlfriend of biker hitman Gerald Gallant was arrested in New York City Tuesday night while trying to flee to Europe.

Jacqueline Benoit is suspected of helping Gallant commit two murders.

Gallant pleaded guilty Tuesday to 27 murders that happened as far back as 1978.

Many of the killings were during the deadly biker war in the 1990s.

His ex-girlfriend was picked up by U.S. Customs at John F. Kennedy airport while trying to board a flight for Ireland.

Benoit is the 11th person to be rounded up in an operation targeting the hitman's alleged accomplices.

Benoit is to be formally charged in Quebec City court Wednesday with murder and attempted murder.
