Hockey legend Mario Lemieux and Rene Angelil, the husband and manager of pop icon Celine Dion, have been inducted into the Order of Quebec.

Dion accompanied her spouse to the ceremony at the provincial legislature along with the couple's young son, Rene-Charles.

Former Supreme Court of Canada justice Louise Arbour is also among those being honoured.

Arbour was named a grand officer of the Order, the highest rank, while Angelil was named an officer and Lemieux a knight.

A total of 34 people are being admitted to the Order by Premier Jean Charest.

The Order of Quebec is the province's highest honour and is given for meritorious service.
