The Catherine Booth hospital in N.D.G. will not immediately close its outpatient department after all.

The closure has been put off until at least September, which is good news for about 70 patients who would have been left without physiotherapy.

Budget shortfall.

The hospital had announced in the last few days that it would close the department because of a $700,000 budget shortfall and rising costs.

Some patients would have been in a bind because of the difficulty in finding physiotherapy services elsewhere.

Physiotherapists had been trying to help patients find alternate arrangements on very short notice.
