Quebec's blood agency is once again asking people people to step up and roll up their sleeves.

Blood reserves in the province are low.

A blood drive begins Wednesday at Place Alexis Nihon, while other drives are scheduled around Quebec.

The agency is asking all healthy people who are 18 years and older to give blood this summer.

Hema-Queebc needs 1,000 donations per day to meet the demand from the province's hospitals.

The agency says just one donation can save four lives.

Hema-Quebec and its partners will be out at malls and campsites to try and persuade people to roll up their sleeves.
