Eighteen people were evacuated from a three-storey building in the Ville Marie borough Monday night after a fire.
Fire fighters got the call around 10:30 p.m. for the residential building at 2358 Provencale St.
The third floor and the roof were ruined by the fire, but residents of the first and second floors were allowed back into their homes.
Firefighters say the fire started on the third floor, and they believe it was an accident.
No one was hurt.
