Christian Lvesque is vying for the ADQ's top spot.

The former MNA from Lvis is looking to take over Mario Dumont's job as the leader of the Action Dmocratique du Qubec.

Dumont stepped down March 6 following poor results in the Dec. 2008 election.

Lvesque, 39, was first elected into the ADQ in 2007 and served as the vice-president of the public finance commission for the party until Nov. 2008, when he was defeated.

He is the first of the four candidates to get the 1,000 signatures required to run. Candidates have until Aug. 18 to compile the signatures from 12 regions throughout the province.
