Here comes the sun, and with it, the heat.

The city is in the middle of a heat wave, with six straight days of sun and no precipitation.

For three days, the weather is hovering around 30C, about five degrees above the average for this time of year - and no one's complaining.

"It's time, eh? We're on vacation, so it's time to enjoy," said two women on vacation

"I kind of gave up on the idea of summer, so it's nice that it's finally here," said Tara Mawhinney, who was playing in the wading pool at Jeanne-Mance Park with her 17-month-old daughter Adia.

Faced with a record for the fewest hours of sunshine in July, this weekend's rays were all the more enjoyable.

Families flocked to Jean Drapeau Park for la Fte des Enfants.

"They're loving it! They don't wanna go home, they wanna sleep here!" said Linda Cuffaro, with a laugh.

And though the 30-degree heat is still four degrees below the record of 33.9C set in 1944, it's a far cry from our record low set in 1968 of 8.3C.

And while the weather is looking good for the next few days, Wednesday is calling for rain.

Enjoy it while it lasts.
