It's been a deadly weekend in Quebec, with four motorcycle and bike riders killed on provincial roads.

On Friday a motorcyclist died after running into a wall in the Lafontaine tunnel. Police believe that rider was just inexperienced, and lost control of his bike.

Driver inexperience is also being blamed for the death of 21-year-old Maxime Noel-Blanchette, who died in another motorcycle crash on Friday, in Drummondville.

On Saturday, 75-year-old Jean-Louis Jutras was struck and killed by a truck while he rode his bicycle on highway 132 near Baie-du-Febvre, in central Quebec.

A female motorcycle rider died in a head-on collision in Lotbiniere, between Trois-Rivieres and Quebec City.

She was one of three motorcyclists hit when a 23-year-old woman lost control of her car and crossed the centre line on Marie-Victorin road.

A fourth motorcycle rider managed to avoid the car. Four people travelling in the car were also hurt, but their lives are not in danger.

Meanwhile two adults and a year-old infant survived a Sunday afternoon head-on crash on Highway 20 near Rimouski.

Police say the boy's mother fell asleep at the wheel.

Street race ends in injury

Street racing and alcohol appear to have been a dangerous mix north of Montreal on Saturday afternoon.

A motorcyclist was critically injured when an 18-year-old driver attempted to pass another car on Highway 25 north in Mascouche.

The teen driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into the motorcyclist from behind.

"There were two cars that seemed (like) they were speeding, they were making a race," Surete du Quebec Sgt. Gregory Gomez Del Prado said from the scene.

The teenager has been arrested and will likely be charged with drunk driving and dangerous driving causing injury. The other driver, a man in his 40s, was also arrested.
