Aaron and Tasso, the longtime radio tag team and two of the highest-profile media personalities in Montreal, ended their 25-year on-air run Wednesday.

Tasso Patsikakis, whose real name is Paul Zakaib, was laid off by Corus Entertainment along with Suzanne Desautels, the third member of the morning-show team.

Rand made the announcement on The Q on Thursday morning, calling the decision "a very sad day for the morning show here."

"It's just me today," Rand told listeners.

"There's no Tasso, there's no Suzanne. It's a tough day here at the station but we've got to carry on. So let's do it."

The Q, formerly known as Q92, will scale back its morning talk format to focus on an expanded slate of music, Program Director Brian DePoe told ctvmontreal.ca on Thursday.

He said the decision was based on an analysis of audience data, not finances.

"Aaron and Tasso are 25 years together," said DePoe.

"It's like when Johnny Carson had his run on the Tonight Show. Everything has a beginning, a middle and an end."

Aaron and Tasso first teamed up in 1984. In 1989 the duo moved on to The Q, then known as CFQR-FM, where Rand's sophomoric antics and Tasso's vast array of impersonations endeared them to generations of audiences.

Desautels, a former CTV Montreal weather reporter, has been with Aaron and Tasso since 1999.

DePoe said research showed that today's audiences want to hear more music and less talk but he added there were no plans to let Aaron Rand go.

"We have a host who is one of the legendary figures in Montreal radio and had been for a long time and was still very credible in the ear of the audience."

I can't believe that you broke up such a great trio. My husband and I enjoyed the talk and jokes in the morning. You have the at music at work at 09:00. Why break up a good formula????? We have been listening to the Q for many years and now this makes want to listen eslewhere.

What a shame. The station management really doesn't know what they've lost. BUT,on a positive note...I think CTV should take advantage of these two great personalities being available and make them the Canadian "Regis and Kelly". I'd love to see Suzanne back on TV. THINK ABOUT IT!!!!

This is like Bell discontinuing cell phones in favour of rotary phones. It's like IBM deciding to make 386s again.
THis is one of the most stupid business decisions I've ever seen and it surely comes down to the program director (I don't even want to know his name) trying to flex his muscle or protecthis ego in some way. There's far more to this story than we know but regardless, you don't mess with the only funny show in Montreal radio.

Here it is 7:30 Monday evening. Still schocked bt Thursday am events of Arron telling Montrealer listeners, that Tasso and Suzanne would not be returning to the best morning show entertainment, the so called Q, eeuuuchhh!!!!!! which by now has lost thousands upon thousands of people including yours truly me, finding another radio station. All of my friends who are really a team, of which Arron, Tasso, and Suzanne, are the greatest trio, "TEAM" Mtl has ever brought to the best city in Canada.
Want to here more music???????. Pop in a cd or tune your ipod. most of us Montrealers, and I seem to notice that "A lot of American listeners too", also would rather listen to the chit chat comedy and I mean laughter, That has left me kind of empty on my way to work.
There is be an emptyness in Arrons' voice, all though he is a professional, and truly "hard to say" except, Arron my heart goes with you on your decision to continue with the so called Q, that stills play those stupid comercials, or else move on. I pray that the three of you will be hired by another radio station personallity, that doesn't depend on the almighty $$$$$ sign, which I think this is all about.
Look at this. I'm still pissed off, but I did vent.
Thank you Tasso,and Suzanne, for the wonderful years that you've given me. Cant wait, Hope you all become the famous trio again. I'll tune in once in awhile to find out how's everyone doing.

It all seems very incestuous, Murray left Q92 for MIX96 and fell flat. Patrick left with his jokes and songs, became a "Sir" at Virgin and is finally getting his due. If there's anything left in the careers of the two they've fired remains to be seen, but I doubt it. I switched to Virgin months ago anyway.

I was personally shocked of the decision to have Tasso and Suzanne removed from the morning show. The Aaron Rand show is boring, boring and boring. Mr. DePoe should have been straight forward with the audience. It is evident that money was the reason and not the need for the audience to listen to more music. Poor management decision that will affect the short-term and long-term audience of the 92.5 morning show..

How dare Q92 mess with our morning show heritage?! What to do? Express ourselves? We’re doing that here. Contact all advertisers and tell them we’ll boycott their products and then boycott? I’m sure not enough of us have done that yet or are prepared to. Really stop listening so that their morning ratings take a serious hit? We must do that now and stick to it for a year. Only then, will management possibly sit up straight and go hmmmm. No Montreal station will hire the trio. Reasons: 1) The conglomerate(s) won’t put out the cash. 2) Why should they, since our promise to migrate over to Virgin, CJAD, etc…assures the competition, i.e. Astral Media, of a ratings boost for free. 3) They simply may not fit their demographic.
The trio is good enough for satellite, but will Canadian satellite slot them and pay them their current high salaries and will the 3 be available to accept and possibly relocate if necessary? Will Aaron Rand do the “right thing” and break his contract and walk out in protest, thereby setting himself up for financial pain and litigation? Would you turn your back on hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in income and potential litigation costs when there is nothing close to comparable beckoning you? I think not.
So, people, tune out Q92, and write and boycott the advertisers. If we do eventually impact the ratings hard enough, maybe then they will bring the trio back, or at least Tasso, but probably by offering them much less cash. Or they could remain adamant and seek to create a new Aaron and Tasso or Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne dynamic for much less. Only time, our advertiser letter writing campaign and boycott, and our seriously diminished listenership will tell.

I've been a very long time listener to Q92, (screw Q), and couldn't be more upset about this. They had a unique show that satisfied quite A LOT of English Montrealers. What does Mr. De Poe think will happen now; this will attract a new audience?? Hello!!! You will drop to nothing as far as listeners go.

This is really a shame!!!! I really loved the show with Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne...they really made me going in the morning, they used to wake me up every morning and then made me laugh on my way to work. It really sucks what the radio station has done!!!!
I like Aaron and he does a great job, but nothing like having the trio together. And as many other listeners I will be listening to my ipod, my CDs and any other radio station where I can listen to the same music than the one is being played at Q92. Now, you guys are like any other radio station out there. By the way, nobody asked me if I wanted to listening more music in the morning, so where did you guys get that information from? Ah, yes, from your pockets...Tasso and Suzanne, I wish you all the best, you guys are great!!!Good luck to you too Aaron.

It sounds like Corus is trying to squeeze every penny out of the piggy bank. The only thing that comes to mind is the story about killing the golden goose.

Most professionally run radio stations have a new show put in place right after making a change. This is usually part of a format change. Even Program Directors in Kalamazoo or Timbuktu know this one. The absolute last thing you do is blow out 2/3 of a very popular morning show.

Aaron there by himself is kind of like the band staying on the deck of the titanic. At least it sounds that way.

A strong morning show is a great anchor for the success for the rest of the day. The idea of less talk and more music is an excuse to cut costs. Without local talent, Q is competing with my iPod which does not have commercials and does not have to play 50% non-hit music.

I am a business person, and this decision does not look to be good business.

If I want entertainment radio in the morning, it's Star 92.9 for me.

Who's gonna listen to Aaron playing music...what a stupid decision...all the best to you, Tasso, and to you Suzanne. Aaron, you should have stood by your sidekick and showed some guts, and threatened to quit rather than stay on with a lame "I'm sorry" pathetic routine...you are thinking of yourself, as usual..$$$$$$$$ rather than personal values and allegiance. What is the world coming to?! All these years of listening to Q92, listening to Aaron and Tasso, then Suzanne was what I woke up to, There was enough music in AM, I loved hearing what they did the night before, LOVED Tasso's impressions and how he discovered fishing and all of the fish stories, Suzanne's retreats and upcoming marriage, and Aaron's travel happenings. Will definitely NOT be the same, Good luck Aaron. Hope to hear Tasso and Suzanne on the radio soon!

I would have gone insane myself with the work re-structuring we went thru a few years back & with what i ended up having left to do.
I picked myself up stayed noble about it & my pay has not changed & i do less....better for me!
Even thses guys here in radio land have it bad at times i guess.

I find the Q does need some new morning material.
It was the same old with Aaron & Tassy,i stopped listening several years ago.
I wish both of them Suzanne & Tasso lots of luck with their other projects!

I had to wait a few days before writing any comments since I was so sad and mad after finding out that my morning team disappeared. I still can't believe that Tasso and Suzanne will no longer be on the air with Aaron.

I can't believe they kick 2 people out, I can't see Aaron doing all the work by himself, he is going to need help. I have a been a loyal listener for more than 16 years and they were on my favorites all over my house and now it's going to be another radio channel that I will be listening to in the morning.

Good luck Tasso and Suzanne and I will be looking out for both of you. Good luck Aaron! I'm pretty sure that you are going to need it.

It's a real shame. I have no doubt that Aaron has talent to do the show alone, BUT, with Tasso.... It was something else. I find they completed eachother very well. I really really really.... REALLY, hope they work together again. If it's on another station, idon't mind changing.

If someone were to ask me if I prefer more music and less talk on the radio, I'd most likely agree and say yes.

But if I were asked that same question about the morning show, I would definitely give a different answer.

Brian, you let this research steer you in the wrong direction. Tasso offered more that just "talk". He made us laugh.

Take another look at your research results and fine-tune them. What do you see? Do you really think Montrealers wanted Tasso out?

The English community in Montreal is small enough already, you want to reduce your audience even more?

I stopped listening to your radio station, Aaron is a great guy, made me laugh as well, but the team is gone. I'm now listening to French radio. Sorry.

Hey DePoe, this "research" obviously was biased towards daytime listeners. Did you stop to think about us morning people? After all, it is a MORNING show. When it's that early in the morning, I want to laugh, not listem to music!

I'd like to know what questions the audience were asked for this so-called research. I'm sure it's these same research people who concluded that "today's audience" wanted the radio station's name changed to "The Q". Where did that get you?

Many other radio stations have comedy in the mornings. I'm sure they have a reason for that. They did a proper research!

The last time I checked, a program director was able to add more music without firing people.

What a big mistake. As much as I wish Aaron all the best and will miss him I can no longer stay tuned to "The new Q". I already was upset with other changes made...I was never asked for my opinion and from what I have read in other comments it doesn't look like any Montrealer that is an active listener to Q92 was even consulted before the changes were made. Perhaps they should now replace management with the monkey...he honestly couldn't do worse. As one person commented I will keep my fingers crossed that this amazing trio is picked up by another station so I can again enjoy morning radio. Best of luck to all 3 of you and I will miss the morning chuckles you shared with us for years on end.

I don't know if it's such a big mistake really. Life goes on! I met 'Tasso' years ago and found him rude and unpleasant. His humour is juvenile and he clearly lost interest in everything but his fishing over the last few years. Suzanne has tried many things on the radio station - traffic, weather, 'entertainment' and never really got the hang of speaking without stumbling over her own words. And the bragging about her love life was just too much to take. I only listen for the last word with Maureen to be honest and out of habit.

My alarm clock is set to the Q, so for the past two days I have been listening to what is left of the Aaron/Tasso/Suzanne show. That seems to be 90% commercials. And they squeeze them in relentlessly, in every crack, and talk very, very fast.
Lord, even lazy me has to reset the alarm clock to something... anything, better than this.

The comfort of waking up to a trio that was always cheering us up in the morning is gone. Aaron can do a good job on his own I'm sure, but it cannot be the same without Tasso and Suzanne being there. The family was split. In protest, I've already switch to other radio stations. The Q's just not right for me!

A perfect example of how far from reality the executive of an organization can be. The only reason I listened to Q92 in the morning on my way to work was to hear the interaction of this three-some who had great chemistry together and made me laugh. If I want to hear music, well, I have hundreds of CDs, merci. This is a major mistake, and now I have to find another station, because for sure Q92 won't be the default on my car-radio anymore. It is a shame.

Why not call in The Q's bosses on a wednesday afternoon and tell them they're fired..I promise the only response from the listeners would be HURRAHHHHHHH..the response to the firing of Tasso and Suzanne has been enormous..perhaps you should reconsider your huge error and correct it..your numbers right now have dropped and will continue to do so..btw..when you fire Q managers offer them the same "courteous" or should I said whacked option of coming back the next day to say goodbye on the air..where is your compassion??

Maybe the people who helped Mahmoud Ahmadinejad win the election in Iran are the same people that were polled as to who should be kicked off Q92. There were a lot of protests against Mahmoud Ahmadinejad but no one was applauding for him. If the station manager isn't lying then they must have asked people who don't even listen to the station for their opinions

just a note to say how saddened i was to hear that Suzanne and Tasso were let go. I do not agree with the q's decision. I think you should have let Aaron go instead ...but that is my opinion...Having listened to them for many many years they became a part of my morning routine and i looked forward to hearing the banter and what they had to say.. Thank God for Suzanne , not only did she give a womans perspective but she was able to put Aaron in his place and suppress his arrogance. Tasso always had a good word to say and he balanced the group out. Very very bad decision on the part of managaement .. I as many others do not buy the more music less talk story .. too bad Q92 was one of the better stations..

I wish Suzannne and Tasso all the best I know they will do well at whatever they do. Please know how very much you will be missed..

As a greek listener, I enjoyed listening to Tasso making fun of greeks and now that he's gone, mornings will never be the same. I think Q92 made an absolutely stupid decisions and should be prepared to lose all their listeners. I wouldn't be surprised if they go off the air in a few months.

Brian Depoe, Tasso was SO great and funny, I really enjoyed waking up to him in the morning, he made me totally laugh. This was one of the biggest and STUPIDEST mistakes ever. You can be sure that I will never listen to the Q again, it has already been deleted from my car radio.

I was in complete shock when I heard the news about Tasso & Suzanne. Evey morning I wake up to the trio - my mornings will never be the same.

I thought the Q was making dumb decisions when they changed their name and brought that stupid monkey for one weekend in April but firing Suzanne and Tasso because the people want "more music"? I never voted for this. Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne actually dissolved my morning grumpiness and now, the Q decides to get rid of them. Nice going. Get ready to lose all your listeners, Q92.

I googled this Depoe guy.. obviously he's the corporate "cleaner". He's been a program director in five different cities around the country. His job is to go from city to city and fire "beloved" radio hosts to trim costs for his Coroporate bosses. I Woke up to Aaron and Tasso for at least 15 years... what a shame.

Really sad to hear about Tasso & Suzanne being let go. I listen because of the fun time the group had together which made me smile and laugh. They were fun to listen to on the way to work at 6:00 am. Music is a small part of entertainment on the radio. Hope they reconsiderif not Q92 has lost a listener.

Tassos brought real fun and sunshine to the programme and Suzanne brought glamour to it.

I was most surprised when I heard on the news last night that both Tasso and Suzanne would no longer be on the morning show.

I will miss not waking up to these three incredibly funny people. I having been listening to Q92 for many years and they never failed to get me going in the morning. I loved their humour and it was a joy to listen on the way to work and at work too. As far as I am concerned Q92's boss has made a serious mistake. I really don't know how many people were surveyed but I believe most people don’t want to listen to music all the time. If I wanted to listen to music in the morning I would put a CD in the player. Unbelievable, I would imagine Q92 will lose many listeners no offence to Aaron but they were a team and these two will be sadly missed. "If it worked why change it"

Aaron and Tasso were my reason for listening to Q92 (oh, The Q) in the morning. Their antics and humour made it fun.... we don't want only music - we NEED the fun (especially in the morning!).
Ever since "The All New Q" was established, there has been something lacking with the station. And when you decided to end the morning show at 08:45 it went downhill even more. (Explain this to me, please - I still don't get why you thought it would be better to end the show before 9 a.m.!!)
Driving in to work with Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne was pleasant and FUN!
Shame sure it won't be the same.

Stupid decision. It has been felt by many former Montrealers who had the pleasure to laugh along with the locals via modern technology -- the internet. Know of many who have sent emails asking if this news was true ? My teenagers had comments about this news. "What kind of a man does this to people?" "Tasso was the funniest guy on the show"..he made the show!!" What right do you have to take away a healthy way to start a day: with laughter. Bring back the Morning Crew on Q92. Would love to see what your ratings are like now.

First of all the main reason that I (and I am quite sure most of other listeners) were tuned on this morning show WAS because of the TALK and NOT of the music. There are many other shows that you could listen to if you are interested ONLY in music. I came to Montreal 15 years ago and Q92 became the show I was never tired to listen to every morning in my car. It charged me with energy and helped me to overcome many troubles in my life. Since the show has changed-started to have less talk and more music- it became less attractive to me. I always admired Aaron, his great talent as a brilliant entertainer, his charisma and sense of humor but I think it will be very hard for him even with his talent to continue the show after all this drastic changes.

I am not certain where they did their research but it was not with Montreal listeners. I have no problem with more music after 9 but in the morning Aaron and Tasso got me through long drives to work. They made us laugh and that is the important part of life.

All I can say (or ask) is "who is behind the decision making at Q92?" I switched OFF listening to Q92 because of the boring and annoying Aaron Rand. What else can be said about a host who loves laughing at his own jokes? Really!. Tasso made the show. He was naturally funny and interesting to listen too (whenever Aaron didn’t cut him off). Too bad, now I will remove Q92 as a choice setting on my radio. Thank God for “TheMix” and the pleasurable soft-music station from Vermont (92.9FM). Bye, Bye Q92.5, instead of the “TheQ” call yourself “TheEnd” .

This is very sad and shocking news. I have been an avid listener of Q92 for more than 20 years, the dynamics has changed forever. How extremely sad to hear that the trio has been disbanned. Same thing at Virgin although they hired a younger person since Murray was getting too old for the listeners. This is what is happening to The Q ... and why The Q??? They are doing what Astral did except they just ensured their demise as a radio station. Aaron is nothing without Tasso, even if he mocks the Greeks. Let's face, at times, we're a funny group! Good luck Tasso! As for Suzanne, she'll be missed and I'm sure she'll find something. I no longer listen to the Q as I find the music very boring ... without the morning show what's the point??

The supposed couple of hundred listeners which were consulted before firing Tasso and Suzanne pales in comparison to the overwhelming response by listeners upset about this decision. A decision taken by a programming director who hails from Toronto and demonstrates a complete lack of respect and understanding regarding Montrealers. Considering all that Greeks have done for civilization(math, medicine, democracy, etc...) you managed to use the accents and professions of first generation Montreal Greeks to advance your career(if you can call it that), on radio. If any Greek radio host made fun of Arab peoples' accents etc... they'd be off the air before people could tune in.

As for Suzanne, she was always a hack even from the days of CFCF. Only Don McGowan and Lou Hannesian had any class to do weather and Travel-Travel.

I cannot believe this. As long as I have lived in Montreal I never even gave another station a chance. It was always Q92. And the only reason was because of the morning show with Aaron and Tasso. I even lived in Toronto for a year and still listened to Q92 via the internet.
You cannot have one without the other. I am sure that there is not one person who believes that DePoe made this decision because he thought it was what the listeners wanted. It was nothing but the bottom line.
I am a listener along with the hundreds of people who have already commented and we are telling you loud and clear what we want is Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne NOT MORE MUSIC.
I have changed my radio station at work and also in my car.
NO MORE Q92. Now play all the music you want.

From the birth of CFQR and to the boring same songs day after day,Aaron and Tasso in the morning meant a good laugh and gave us a break from the same tunes. We know anything written will not change the low Iq management. Aaron, you should move with Tasso to another Radio station and see if your listerners will follow. That would really shake things up.

I was so shock when I heard about Tasso and Suzanne gone, I am (was ) a member of Q92.fm, so as members we received a letter today.
Tasso was great, he was funny and friendly when they were located in Verdun I wld see him a couple of times on the street when I said Hi Tasso he wld turn with his big warm smile and say Hi back.
I dont think Aaron can pull this show off with out Tasso,Tasso made u laugh even on days that u didnt want to smile never mind laugh, this man has a way to reach you., So fire him, no this is wrong., as for Suzzane well she was OK .
I/we are really going to miss Tasso, not having Tasso s voice and laughter in the AMis like losing a family member.
Well I guess I will just listen to another morning station, until some bright idea from somebody takes that channel away.

I was shocked this morning to put it mildly when Arron announced he was doing the show solo. I will miss Taso & Suzanne the morning show will never be the same though Arron is a professional in all aspects of the word he doesn't have a million voices like Tasso to make you laugh etc.

I believe they where cut as AM 940 is bleeding red and management figured to save money this way as there is no further cuts to make on 940.

Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne we part of our mornings like coffee, reading the paper and drive in to school. How Q92 could make such a decision is beyond me. The station as far as I am concerned stayed afloat only because of this trio...it was certainly not the music.
Aaron I am disappointed as to where your loyalties lie. Have some balls and quit...then let management figure out where to go. Without your sidekicks you are just another host like many and you WILL be replaced on that you can be sure.
I will no longer listen, it is now just like all the other stations and there are many more to choose from other than Q92.

I couldn't believe it this morning when I heard the news. Q92 started off my day even before my morning coffee. I used to drive to work and just watch other drivers laugh out loud when I would. I dread being stuck in traffic without Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne. Aaron you are good, but with Tasso and Suzanne you were great...Looks like I will be tuning into Virgin...Good luck to you all and hopefully another station will snatch the 3 of you soon.

Whoever made this decision, you certainly don't listen to your public, I like many thousands of Montrealers listened to the trio every morning for the last 18 years and I can tell you that you just killed the radio station. I sure hope the trio will end up on another radio station so I will be able to laugh again. Like everyone else says, it wasn't the music that made it that we were on your station, it was the trio and now we only get dumn music and lots and lots of commercials, well instead of listening to laughs from Aaron Tasso and Suzanne in the morning, I'll certainly be changing stations. I was shocked and sad this morning, to tune in and find Aaron announce that Tasso and Suzanne were let go. I was profoundly upet, and angered at the radio station. Because their program is the only one I like on that station. Suzanne is funny, down to earth, and not a hen. Tasso is funny sweet, and Both are genuinely Nice. I will continue to listen to Aaron, So that He does not get axed. But a deep sadness lingers, and I do not want to listen later in the day anymore. Frankly, I think they can do better. But I would like to have them back. Q92 you made a mistake. PLEASE bring them back.

I will no longer listen to Q92.5. Suzanne and Tasso made the AM program special, ALONG WITH Aaron.Sorry to say, but Aaron is just one of the whole, without the other two, this AM program is like all the others out there. It is no longer funny, special, entertaining. I would rush to my husband as he prepared for work in the AM, to let him know which segment was on the show, ie. Carla and Rinaldo, etc.These special events made the show itself special.

I am so angry right now...Aaron & Tasso in the morning had the perfect balance of music, news, entertainment and "talk". Every morning I found myself laughing in the car on my drive to work. I was already unhappy with the changes brought a while back...this latest change may just have me switch stations for good. And after listing to Aaron & Tasso for over 20 years it just breaks my heart. What a shame to English radio...what a loss.

The whole point of the morning show was the humor of the three hosts. Always generating a laugh. I don't believe for 1 minute that Q listeners are requesting more music...less talk. Please if that's what we wanted we would put in our favorite CD.
I think this was a horrible decision on the stations part. I'll be looking for another station to listen to.

It is sad news, but people, speaking as one coming from Calgary, now living in Montreal for bout 5 years now, get used to it. Quite simply,it's Corus. They do this all the time, it was awful in Calgary, so now I look, see and say, same old stuff. They don't give a damn about what people think or want. Bottom line is all. They made us nuts in Calgary, constantly messing with the stations (especially 107FM). They'll never stop. As to those sad cases of "I'll show Q92, I'll just tune into 940...nope, ""Hello... McFly?, They're owned by Corus too, would not make a damn bit of difference to the suits. Get used to it folks, radio in Canada is screwed, owned by corporate lowlifes like Corus,Astral & Bell. Good luck to Paul and Suzanne, I worry not cause they are survivors, they will recover, it's Rand who should worry now.

I listened to the reasoning behind this decision yesterday and still cannot understand it. As one person asked "WHO did CTV interview?" I wasn't asked. It makes no sense. Tasso and Suzanne made the show. Whoever made the decision, needs his/her/their heads examined. I will now listen to Virgin 96 in the mornings as well as in the afternoon.

I think this is the worst decision the Q has made so far. Aaron and Tasso are the morning show. Listening to them was the first high point of my day. Their connection was special and their humor started my day off.It will never be the same.

I don't want to desert Aaron, but I don't want more music. The Q was special to me because of the way the personalities complimented each other.

I may well look for another station. English radio is dieing and I think you really did shoot yourselves in the heads with this decision .

Obviously, no one cares about what the listener wants. Does Corus Entertainment think the station has any chance without the duo? There's no Aaron without Tasso. I have been a huge fan of Paul Zakaib's since the early 80's. Guess I'll just listen to my CD's and Virgin Radio (formerly known as the Mix)! I hope some executives' heads will roll for this. There is nothing worse than making a bad call from a cushy seat, completely detached from reality. These guys have gotten me through break-up blues, enraging morning traffic, spaced out thoughts, and more. I have had many a hearty laugh at a traffic light, and looked over to find others doing the same, both of us knowing Aaron and his gang had hit a joke, bang on.

I had the great pleasure of working with Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne. I am saddened by the dismissal of Paul and Suzanne. I must say that Paul is one of the quickest wits I have ever known. He, Suzanne and Aaron are among the nicest people I have known. Such talent will rise again, and will be duly celebrated. It's too bad that in the meantime, they must endure this and the audience is deprived of their spark.
It is ironic that this industry that brings joy to its constituents is so cruel to its stars, its bread and butter. The babies were indeed thrown out with the bath water here. But I am confident, knowing their talent, that these comedic icons will them selves have the last laugh. I wish all three of them strength and success.

Changes in radio happen all the time
but usually they are done with good reasons,and are done to improve ratings and in turn financial performance.
What has happened here is simply an excuse to cut costs and to force the remaining member to quit.The one you have to have the pity for is Aaron.He has worked as team with Tasso for 25 years.He wasnt even able to say his last name comfortably this morning.He performed like a pro,but you have to know that the anger he was holding in was like a volcano.

The program director with no Montreal experience did what the suits in Toronto wanted him to do cut costs period,and get the large contract from Mr.Rand out of the way after he realizes what the real objective was.The entertainment the trio offerred was their asset.Music that anybody can play on the mp3 playerr or cd player is not an option.

Maybe 20 years in one slot is a long time,but this isnt how phase out an institution.

Anybody remeber how the Great George Balcan was yanked off the air and replaced by a Rock and Roll wannabe who the suits thought would be able to replace an icon.Look at what happened and what we have there now.Talk about pathetic.

The success of the program 60 Minutes was based on the director Don Hewitt, never forgetting what the viewer wanted to hear. Too bad managers at Q92 have forgotten to ask the listeners what they wanted! I never got a survey, or was asked to call in to cast my vote! I am outraged on how this decision was made....stating they asked many people. they must think that we, the listeners are a bunch of idiots. We know exactly what happened here, and I truly believe that this "NEW WAVE" of revamping the AM show will do, and has already done a lot of damage. Tasso and Suzanne are ICONS, and with Aaron they were the AM show. The listeners are upset for if they weren't no one would have taken the time to call the station or write in their comments. We the listeners may not know Tasso, Aaron, and Suzanne personally, but to us, they were the team of friends that greeted us every work day by putting a smile on our face, with their humor, news, and friendship which they not only they extended among themselves but also to us the listeners. We were all a part of that family. They were "Magic" on the radio and Q92 will never be the same again!
Hopefully, Q92 will wake up and smell the coffee, and reverse their decision! We are the devoted listeners, and we want Tasso and Suzanne back!

I was extremely saddened to hear this mornings news about Tasso and Suzanne. Hearing the pain in Arron's voice was difficult.
The three of them made a wonderful team that I enjoyed listening to in the morning. In reading the comments, I was very discusted by the negative ones. No one is forced to listen to the Q! But it appears that these were the type of people who were contacted to do the survey! I will miss both of you, and I wish Arron Rand all the best.

The music sucks and more of it will just suck harder. I miss the team but I will adapt as there is no way of bringing back the dead. The other Radio stations have a chance of hiring this team, The powers that be, have spoken and there is no going back. The Q lost two avid listeners today. My mom and I listen every morning, and with the departure of Tasso and Suzanne, the show just won't be the same. I think its a shame that all local radio is suddenly disappearing and embracing US standard radio shows. First we lost Mix 96 to Virgin, now Q92 to Corus (Astral Media). It sucks.

I too was both shocked and dismayed this AM when I learned that my most favorite radio show would no longer be.To break up the trio is a huge mistake. No radio show could ever match the quality of humour and family -like feeling that the listeners derived from this show. DePoe- big mistake. Well I was shocked to hear the news to say the least! I really enjoyed listening to Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne going to work every morning. They brightened my day when I got out of bed on the wrong side....If I wanted to listen to more music I could just pop in a CD as has already been said! I enjoyed the morning chat as it got me going by the time I got to work. In the office we would laugh about what had been discussed on Q92. I will miss that morning show and will find another station to listen to. Aaron is good but since we will not be hearing much from him anymore no use in listening for the music alone. English Montreal has lost once again. Not only has The Q taken the soul out of a great morning show and disregarded its dedicated listeners (at its peril), but the decision makers are playing into the hands of those who would like to see the English face of Montreal gradually disappear.
I'm truly hoping that another station in Montreal will snap up this fabulous trio so that we can keep this bright light shining. Until then, I'll really miss three great entertainers.

My drive to work every morning was made more enjoyable because of Aaron & Tasso's jokes and funny stories. If I want to have music blasting in my ears in the morning, I will listen to another radio station. I want a little bit of humour to start my day off on the right foot. My brother from Nova Scotia used to enjoy the show whenever he visited Montreal. He too is saddened by the news. Too bad Mr. DePoe, you have made a wrong decision. I enjoyed 92.5 when Murray Sheriff was there was AAron, that was by far the best duo. Tasso died down quite a bit and Suzanne I just dont find very funny. The entertainment girl tries to be funny,but she isnt. I think they should bring in murray sheriff with Aaron alone. your ratings will surely go up.

I was really shocked to hear Aaron announce that Tasso and Suzanne were gone from the show.
Wow! It is a pretty sad situation when the hilarious bantering by these three every morning is silenced. What is B. DePoe thinking of? Why didn't Aaron stand up for them? If he had maybe DePoe would have reconsidered? I wish them both all the best and Aaron to you I say "watch your back" maybe your job will not be so secure after all. After hearing this news, I have switched to 92.9 much better music, more recent, instead of the Q's computer programmed music and that crazy monkey on week-ends, real cheap.

Radio will never be the same in Montreal. The combination of Aaron and Tasso and Suzanne is a Montreal institution. The three of them was what got me going in the morning and put a smile in my day .I enjoyed the talking and discussions between the 3 of them and am truly shocked that they would break up such a geat team.! Sorry Mr.Brian DePoe but we, the listeners are not buying your excuse - "today's audiences want more music" - no, what we want is real people talking to us, making us laugh, connenting us with the world, with the city.
Arron & Tasso & Susanne are the real deal, the real connection and they are part of our lifes and our homes....

I will not listen to Q92 any longer, Aaron alone just won't have the fun and humor that Tasso and Suzanne brought to the show. If I wanted to just listen to music I would put on a CD.

Eliminating more English entertainment banter from the Montreal airwaves will further diminish the exposure of the English language in Montreal. We need more not less. Most people now use MP3's, cds etc to play their favorite tunes rather than wait for your playlist to come around to one's favorite tunes. Aaron Rand is talented but Tasso & and Suzanne complemented Aaron.I have been a fan of Aaron, Tasso & Suzanne since their afternoon show some 25 years ago from the calls to Ghadafy in Libya to the Queen in Buckingham Palace. Have to try other radio stations with some humor to start the day. The morning show was the class of the station and a good reason to LISTEN to the radio rather than just having it on for background noise.

The beauty of Q92, over say a CD, in the morning was the exchange between Aaron, Tasso, & Suzanne. Aaron is well versed in humour & music but the "spice" of the show was the way the team leveraged off each other. Who knows what will happen but it's a sad day. Given the 175 responses to what's happened, one has to wonder who the heck really did the analysis & if it was really based on an audience that made a difference. Good luck to all 3 & shame on the VERY FEW naysayers that felt they needed to critize the team.

First Peter Anthony Holder at CJAD and now this at Q92. Its obvious the Toronto bigwigs are slowly wringing any true professionals left in English Montreal Radio and just biding their time until its all syndicated canned programming. It all started 15 years back when CJAD had a shopping mall contest to hire their hosts. They'll take anyone off the street now, there's no such thing as professional broadcasters anymore. It's obvious the anglo radio market here is viewed as "expendible" and forget the heart & history. Part of the problem is too many companies owning several stations, and not enough competition. Imagine the tourists that come here and tune into local anglo radio and hear all these amateurs. How will it reflect on our image? We came in first on the World Monopoly board, but we come in last in radio. Someone needs to start a new station and hire all the professionals being let go. They'd laugh all the way to the bank.

This is like breaking up the Three Musketeers and is just another example of incompetent management loosing touch with the marketplace and not having a long term game plan.
The next BBM ratings will reflect the loss of listeners and with that will come the loss of advertising dollars; so the downward spiral has commenced. I give it a year before your radio scan just passes right by 92.5 because there’s nothing there.

I cannot understand breaking up a great morning team. They started our day with a laugh or a smile to help deal with todays stress. We may want music but we also need some much needed laughter. I'm sorry, you have committed a very big mistake! It was our 1st channel selection on all of our radios, car & home in this family! It was the very first thing we'd do to start our day, turn on the "Q"! We/I actually looked forward getting into my car to listen to them religiously for as long as I can remember. I have them to thank for making me laugh, for making a radio show "actually' interesting & entertaining all at the same time. Yes, as a matter of fact I do I have a choice, I could choose between SAT or radio & I chose the Q especially in the morning & it's on the Q when I'd get home. You have taken upon yourselves to remove the "human touch" the "team spirit" along with all of its human emotions. With Aaron, Tasso & Suzanne, it was like the 3 Stooges (and I love the 3 Stooges). Now it's only 1 Stooge (not meant as a criticism). It just isn't done. Think of Laurel & Hardy, Abbott & Costello, Batman & Robin, Aaron & Tasso. You just can't split them up! Q92, you're going to lose listeners. I can think of 2 already.

And, BTW, I do have Sirius/XM satellite radio at home and in the car, but still listened (past tense) to Q92. How does that work for your planning?

Every morning I woke up looking forward to listen to them.
When they were on vacation I wanted to let them know that they "should not go away" because I really missed the fun and entertainment on my way to work.
It is the combination of the team that makes it so special....to me their program is what made Q92 worth it. Their music sucks, is too old and repetitive.
I hope the 3 of them find another good station where they can team up again and that Aaron leaves Q92.
I doubt I will listen to Q92 anymore.

I agree with almost everyone else who posted comments here: the station has made a lot of changes recently, but this decision to fire Tasso and Suzanne is definitely the worst. I was completely shocked when i heard the news. Management may claim they did this because of audience changes or financial reasons, but i still it was a very bad decision and will hurt them in the long run. The station will lose most, if not all, of Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne's loyal listeners, myself included. Mornings will never be the same without the trio, and most listeners have been turned off by the news.
This short-term solution is clearly a long-term mistake.

I was so shocked to hear that Suzanne and Tasso were "canned" sort to speak. And this rumor that it is because the listeners wanted more music is alot of hogwash. I have listened to "Music" radio stations and all they seem to play is the same 10 songs over and over again. I was turned off by another station and I started listening to Q92, and it was like Aaron was the coffee and Suzanne and Tasso were the sugar and the cream. Great Team., great mix, great variety! If you needed to "Trim the Fat", you could have looked elsewhere at your radio station, not Tasso and Suzanne. Q92 lost another listener for good. Bad choice!

I stopped listening to the afternoon show when the two funny, energetic ladies left. Now my mornings will start with the "Buzzer" on my alarm clock.

Maybe we don't need these Project Director. He doesn't give us the laughs that we get from Aaron and Tasso. He's the one that should get fired. I couldn't believe my ears this morning when Aaron announced that he would be doing the morning show solo. He said that after a meeting following Wednesday morning's show Tasso and Suzanne were let go.

First, the upsetting news that Judy Croon and Sonia Benezra were cut out.... then Terry DiMonte said his good-byes (and he was a classy addition to the station, that is for sure!) Now, another good thing terminated.... I don't know if Aaron Rand has the flare to entertain morning listeners by himself and I know that I will probably be drifting to another show soon.... CJAD and Andrew Carter probably or let me try out 940AM! Aaron, all I can say is: watch out, you may be next, as nothing is sacred these days. I know about this, having been let go after 26 yrs of service at a company! Good luck, Tasso (what, that's not your real name?!), Suzanne, and Aaron too. Thanks for the morning laughs....

What a damn shame. Tasso & Suzanne were to Aaron as ice cream is to apple pie. Thank goodness I can get other radio stations on the net. I'd write to @92 but in my heart I know it would make to difference. I watched the CTV news on the six o'clock cast and was schocked to watch Aaron tow the company line, perhaps he had no choice...wait yes he did he could have opted to say nothing.

I start working as they are coming on and only listen to this show because its just fun to listen to them all more so all there out looks on different topics and was,Was the best morning show on radio in Montreal!.I will miss there banter and witty humour but then the radio station knows better than we the listeners i guess . Sorry Aaron but as of today i will not be listening to your show nothing personel but i liked listening to all 3 of you. I hope they fire the shirt who desided to do this and get the three some back up and running if not bye radio station 92.5fm in Montreal!!

I cannot believe it. This program which is always winning awards every year. As far as I'm concerned, this is just another example of management NOT LISTENING and just forging ahead. The pocketbook is more important. In the morning, it is great to have music but you need the levity and humour as well, especially these days when many people are going to jobs that are more and more uncertain and made more unpleasant by our economic situation. What a very poor decision on management's part. I guess you just lost another patron.

I have no further reason to listen to "the Q" and think whoever made this decision is a short-sighted idiot. Aaron, watch out -- you're next. I will now tune all radios and PC to another station.

The last straw happenned today on the morning show. With the recent changes in programming and song selection, I found myself changing to other channels more often. It seemed they were using much older songs which may be less costly to play.
Overall, very disappointed in the recent decisions and poor management,especially today's decision.

Wow, this is just shocking news I used to listen to The Q all the time but it's going to be very different. Instead of firing people The Q should have just changed their music. I guess it's for management reasons or something but they were such a good duo and they will be missed by not only me but hundreds of Montrealers. I didn't always listen to the Q and the morning show but it's too bad we had to have this loss :(

Q92 will be history very soon.

Don't understand what has happened to Montreal radio, first Terry dimontee and now Tasso and Suzanne. The Q just shot themselves in the head with this decision, they will lose revenue, ratings, listeners, -- the reason I prefer the Q in the morning is because of the banter between AARON, TASSA and SUZANNE -- I don't need to listen to more music -- the station was built on that team, without Tassa, Aaron Rand will not survice. i will no longer be listening to the Q

My comment is not about the changes listed here, although I can well understand how upsetting it is to ANY listener who loses access to a favorite personality or show, but about a similar loss -- that of Peter Anthony Holder on CJAD. Whatever the reasons (many say it relates to cost-effectiveness), to replace such a great show and superb interviewer with a repeat of the same day's morning shows makes no sense at all. I am outraged and feel helpless. Listeners seem to have no say at all about these major changes. I hope Peter will reappear on some other local station so I can have my night show fix again!

The management at Q said that Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne's ratings had "plateaued". So by that reasoning, they felt that Tasso and Suzanne were holding the show back?!! I think they're just trying to shake things up to establish themselves as the Big Men In Charge and to let everyone know that no one is safe. First CJAD butchers their lineup and Q folows suit. The head honchos are just showing their own stupidity and insecurities. Who will they blame once their ratings start to drop as opposed to "plateauing"?

I live in the states and this was the only station left that had great hosts with lots of laughs and still played Canadian artists, although that has been lacking...heard Jann Arden's new song once!

Guess I will move to Virgin since their morning team are always good for a few laughs although the music isn't great.

I have been a loyal listener and fan of Aaron & Tasso since the beginning. Many a morning I have dreaded the thought of facing the stress and workload waiting for me at the office, but the from the instant that I put on the Aaron & Tasso show, I would laugh. By the time I reached the office I felt like the sun was shining and I could face the day. Whenever they were on vacation I would change to another channel. You have lost another devout listener. The dismissal of Paul Zakaib (Tasso) and Suzanne Desautels is NOT a move of which Montreal should be proud. Brian DePoe, in an attempt to make the station more competitive in the marketplace, has destroyed one of Montreal's truly wonderful teams. Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne have become a staple of morning rush hour radio, keeping the public both informed, amused and entertained. Aaron is at his very best when he has a foil off which to bounce his humour.

I think this move will prove disastrous to 92-5 the Q (I much prefer Q92). Only time will tell.

I hope NO ONE is considering giving Mr. DePoe a Christmas bonus this year. I know Santa Claus has his bundle of coal stacked and ready for delivery.

P.S. I look forward to the next forward-thinking radio station that has the gumption to hire all three of them and become the number one radio station in the morning. 92-5 the Q doesn't deserve it.

Very bad move. Instead of firing Tasso and Suzanne you should have changed some of the music played. I notice that the same songs are played over and over. The best part of the show was the jabber between the 3 of them...We can hear continuous music all day...it's great to laugh in the morning on the way to work. I feel bad for Aaron..he's left there to throw in a few comments in between music sets????What a waste of a talent. I will be tuning in to wherever these 3 go. Brian DePoe said a survey was done,with whom? My family and I are Q92 members, we did not receive a phone call nor an email. They sent out a general email to the members regarding the dismissal, I ask, why wasn't a general one sent for the survey?

My wife and I have been listening to Q92 for almost 15 years. The main reason for listening to Q92 was for the morning show with Aaron, Tasso, and Suzanne. We consider them as part of the family. They made our day start on a bright note, they made us laugh and we look forward to listening to them each morning.

We do not consider that a morning show should have the same programming as an afternoon or evening show. If more music was what we wanted, we could simply listen to our CDs, IPOD, or MP3. Not the same, really not the same as the morning show we became accustomed to!

We feel that the Q92's decision to remove Tasso and Suzanne was a financial one. Q92 is not giving its listeners more, they are simply cutting costs. We do not believe that these costs reductions will be beneficial to Q92 as you will lose a lot of listeners that were faithful for so many years.

Mr. Brian DePoe claimed on the radio that they have surveyed hundreds of people regarding the programming and this was the best that you could do??? We believe that "Marvin the Chipmunk" would have done better than the Q92 administration responsible for Tasso and Suzanne's departure.

If you feel that we are wrong on this, please compare all the positive and negative emails that you received on this subject, and that will give you your answer.

We are very disappointed and we are now looking for a new morning show that will provide information, humour and some silliness that make us laugh in the morning. This type of programming helps your listeners forget about the daily stress and other problems.

We would like to thank Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne for their great work for all these years and wish them all the best in their future endeavours. They will be missed so much!

With their adolescent, vapid women to the self-satisfied and inane banter of the drive-home crew, the station now has absolutely zero appeal for me, a long-time listener. Very sad and very stupid.

I so completely do not understand this decision! Tasso was like a breath of fresh morning air - my morning sunshine, he always perked me up like a fresh cup of coffee in the morning! The camaraderie they both shared together was a union comparable to johnny carson and ed mcmahon - what would johnny have been without Ed, nothing, as what Aaron will be without Tasso, nothing...they were like a horse and carriage, Aaron the horse, Tasso the carriage! They both made the show what it was, I, personally, even listening this morning was not impressed - I have totally lost interest in the new Q - and please stop playing Rod Stewarts downtown train over and over and over again...

Change is inevitable in everything...we usually don't like it however that is of little consequence. I often commented to my wife that those 3 sure have a lot of time off. Must have cost the station a bundle. I did enjoy the antics that the 3 cooked up. They seem to be having a hoot unlike most jobs. Good luck to Suzanne and Tasso. I now understand why so many listeners including myself have switched over to Virgin Montreal. The morning show will NOT be the same. Aaron will be a one man show( not funny) for years Aaron and Tasso made me laugh! I remember many mornings while driving into Montreal and listening to the morning show and I would be laughing out loud! So were other drivers, they must have been listening to the morning show also. I will not be tuning into the "Q" anylonger. Aaron get back with Tasso and find another radio station. I wouldn't trust DePoe because he doesn't have a clue about what people want, he just wants to save his own AS-.

Makes absolutely NO sense to remove Tasso & Suzanne. I live in a bilingual household, & often listen to French radio; let me say that no one comes close to the chemistry that existed between that trio. They each had their own personality and character, & each brought a unique ingredient that gave the best result, A Great Show. Shame on the management that brought about this thought and approved it on top of it. Aaron will have a very tough job, because he has been amputated (like he said so himself this morning) of two very important limbs. How can the resulting one-man show be better?? I will be searching for something else to wake up to and start my day on the right foot. Sorry, but this has been in the works since they started bad changes. Montreal is very unique also.

Lontime listener to the Q92 morning show...Oops..sorry former listener! As eveyone else has said, we have ipods and whatever gizzmo to load and listen to music. The morning show was a connection with us everday Joe getting up and going to work. The show's trademark is a trio and not a solo radio host. What a monumental gaff and Q92 ratings will suffer tremendously!

Sad, Sad, Very Very Sad!

This is the way of Montreal Radio nowadays! Rob Kemp was demoted last week over at CHOM and it seems desperation is now the situation at all stations. Personally I'm now listening to Sirius Radio full time except for news and traffic for 15 - 30 minutes in the morning.
Best of luck to Tasso and Suzanne… You were great to wake up to… you’ll be missed!

Wow! Unbelievably stupid on the part of the Q management. You have just nailed your coffin shut. People want a little laughter in the morning on their way to work. Aaron and Tasso provided that. Personally, I don't believe you surveyed anybody. Either this was purely a financial decision or someone has a deathwish for Q92. Either way, they aren't going to recover from this. They need to get down on their knees and beg Tasso and Suzanne to come back and then give all three a hefty raise. Bye-bye Q92, hello Virgin Radio (who, by the way, must be doing their happy dance right about now).

I was quite shocked this morning to wake up only hearing Aaron's voice on the radio. This was the best trio out there, for morning laughs and putting smiles on people's faces while getting to work. It is a shame!!! Hopefully another station can pick up the trio...and the listeners will surely follow.

I am just appalled by this turn of events, the only reason I started listening to Q92 was for the morning show and the combo of aaron Tasso and Suzanne. Tasso and Suzanne were the best part of the show and they made aaron funnier than he actually is. I am done listening to the Q. I will be finding other stations to start my morning off. Who ever decided this did not put much thought into this now did they. Tasso and Suzanne you will be missed you guys made my mornings I will never listen to the Q ever again unless someone grows a brain and brings you back. I think Q92 needs new management, and where and when was this so called poll taken by listeners? I used to be a loyal listener and have never heard of this poll, key word use to be. I am so pissed right now I don’t know what else to say.

Everything is music in Q92 already, except for Aaron and Tasso.
Now is 100% music. So? what's the incentive to listen this show or that show if it is the same music playing over and over until you hate the stupid song of the month because of saturation...

I'll certainly miss Tasso & Suzanne. If they had to cut personnel then they should have only let Suzanne go. Not to say that she wasn't any good but too many listeners are so accustomed to Aaron & Tasso (just like many CTV-CFCF News viewers were so used to Bill & Mutsumi, only that Bill left because of retirement). Suzanne is the newest of the three so either way she would have been let go.

The decision being based on audience data is pure rubbish. If listeners want to hear more music then they should get satellite radio. Maybe DePoe and other staff in upper management should also take a pay cut.

This is really sad news... Mornings just won't be the same w/o them and this new "more music" format. As many have said, if it's what I/we wanted, could just put a CD in or plug in my ipod... I just don't understand the logic behind this decision, how can this be a winning call??

I agreee with everyone, if I want to listen to music, I will put on a CD. What a shame, I guess Q92.5 music directors are ignorant and don't know what is good for the station. This is strictly a financial decision (please don't insult our intelligence by saying you asked the public's opinion, no one asked me). So time to switch to another station.

What a horrible decision. They had such great chemistry together. I am sure Suzanne and Tasso will come out the winners at the end. It sound s like the higher up's are scrambling for ratings and are clueless about what Montrealer's want. If the format is to have more music I hope they add more to the playlist. Enough Kenny Rogers and Luba already. Satellite radio is starting to look like the best choice.

I used to listen to Q92 exclusively. The commercials got unbearable, to I started to switch over to CHOM whenever a stupid commercial aired on Q92. Over the last year or so, I found myself listening more to CHOM and less to Q92, as the music deteriorated more and the commercials got worse. The only thing that made me go back to Q92 at all was the morning trio. Well, I guess I won't bother tune to Q92 anymore now. I'm gone !

That show was never the same when one of them was missing and now that show will never be the same. Do we love Aaron, yes of course. Am I going to stay on Q92 at all time...no sir. There is many more stations that play ONLY music. Sorry Aaron, but you will have to understand that this is nothing against you ( I have been an unconditionnal daily listener of your morning show since 1989 ) but the show will never be the same. The best thing you can do for your audience (because they will expect something like that) is that all 3 of you join back again with another radio station. Go for it Aaron. After what they did to Tasso and Suzanne, Corus does not deserve to have you host a morning show that his no more a morning show. For what they want to do, they can hire a DJ. You are worth a lot more than that. Do it ASAP because Corus just killed your show. That's a very nasty bomb.

The speach I heard this morning from DePoe trying to make sense of his desicion, doesn't make any sense to the audience.
Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne are the ones who had such synergy together which is the reason for such a large and faithful audience.
This is not the first time where we see poor management decisions made at the expenses of people like us.
We don't kill LEGENDS and the trio was a legend who just got wiped out by mgmt with no brain.
Out of all the ones who wrote here, I haven't seen anyone stating that the where called for their opinions. If we wanted more music in the Morning we would have said so.

It was sad to hear about Tasso and Suzanne, but not surprised by the station's decision. However, instead of getting rid of great talent like Tasso (he would not have been the one I would have let go!), why not focus the change on the music played. It's become quite stale over the years, as the same songs are played over and over. That's why I've changed to listening to AM 940, where the oldies are always great to hear again. The best part of Q92 was Tasso. I wish him the best!

More music during the day and evening makes sense but driving to work we all need humour to face the day ahead. I will be looking for a new station that offers this. Ever since becoming "The Q", I have been trying other stations. The music is no longer easy listening. I loved Judy and Sonja from the afternoon show and they too are gone. Terry for noon hour - gone. Now a great team in the morning that made me laugh gone also!! I don't know where DePoe is getting his stats from but I suspect this is cost cutting. This is just terrible! So many of us have become used to waking up with Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne in the morning. They are an absolute riot together and the morning show will never be the same. I think that a lot of people will lose respect for the station and I hope that the three amigos reunite on another station so that we can all switch and boycott "The Q" because it's just NOT right for you anymore! Music is good, yes, but the laughter that they brought onto Montrealers every day was much better than any music.

How can you possibly justify the letting go of Tasso and Suzanne? I don't know who you spoke to on this survey but they sure as hell weren't Q92 listeners. If I want more music I put on my MP3 or iPod or throw in a CD. The Morning Team got me going in the morning and kept me going during the day. Our office has their own radio station (French) but I have my own radio with Q92 on it all day. Tasso and Suzanne..I wish you both the best of luck. I will certainly miss you on the Q.

Unfortunately, cost margins are so more important than the quality of the product. With Q92 being the leading local english FM station, Corus Entertainment has found such an interesting approach to rewarding loyal and dedicated employees such as Suzanne and Tasso.

I was shocked to hear about Tasso and Suzanne, I can not believe that Q92 believes that Tasso and Suzanne are no longer an asset to their company, they are so wrong. They believe this all because of a survey of a couple of 100 people that would rather more music. I’ve listened to their program for more than 20 years and Q92 will not be the same without them. Folks, someone made a bad decision. The audience is looking for music, but more important, looking for laughs. No radio station has a trio even close to these three, and every time I tuned in I would get a laugh. We need more homour, not music. You guys are taking a big risk, because for music, people are going ipod. You need to differentiate yourselves by having content people want to listen to, if we want music, we go off air to my mp3!!

I know that when I am having an off day, I snap right out of it just by listening to one of Tasso's many impersonations; my favourites are Elias, Dave and Aaaron's mom. I am a big fan of his and will miss him dearly. Also, there is a very special chemistry between Aaron and Tasso that you don't find in any other radio stations. So please, please, please, bring Tasso back!! If the Aaron/Tasso team worked well all these years, why sever it now? So what if they've been together all these years! The formula still worked.

That's terrible. The comedy in the morning was a nice way to start the day; it was the only reason I listened and the only time I tuned in and listened until 9AM.
I won't be listening anymore, but I guess that really doesn't matter since according to the marketing research, the ratings will be going up no matter what loyal listeners do now.

I'm not at all surprised. Have been listener to Aaron show for 20 yrs. Tasso used to be more funny, you never heard his real voice, and cracked me up with his impersonations, now he got to serious and spent part of his time in a mild whining state. Suzanne was a good balance but in her "senior" years she began to be more predominent with male bashing and mild complaints about everything.Aaron attempts to copy Seinfeld and Letterman..lately I tune in and hear news some weather partial sports and Aarons hit and miss ongoing love life saga..face it..its changed.And another that should go is definitely that entertainment Lady..she is at times disrespectful, made fun of Mcartneys wife peg leg..no place for that in radio..and I dont tune in to hear all about her kids and husband. Tasso will end up at another station, so will Suzanne. The show peaked 2 yrs ago and downhill ever since. All the contests were just to compile list of listener emails and names to show advertisers. Good luck Suzanne and Paul.Aaron..I suggest you quickly fill in for the three.

Very poor decision!!! I actually found Tasso to be much more entertaining than Aaron. If we want to listen to more music, we can simply pop in a CD and listen to that instead. Their humour and banter was what made the show fun and entertaining. I don't see how Aaron going solo can possibly help the morning show. I'm completely shocked! I've been less and less impressed since "The All-New Q" came out a couple months ago, and the only reason I stayed on was because of Aaron, Tasso, and Suzanne. Aaron's great, but it was the interplay between the three of them that made it so much fun. I wish all three of them the best of luck, but I will be switching to a different station.

Don't understand what has happened to Montreal radio, first Terry dimontee and now Tasso and Suzanne. The Q just shot themselves in the head with this decision, they will lose revenue, ratings, listeners, because the station was built on that team, without Tassa, Aaron Rand will not survice

I think this sucks. Aaron, Tasso and Suzanne WERE THE COFFEE, the LAUGHTER BEHIND US waking up in the morning. The three of them got us going every morning and I really don't think the mornings will be the same. It was Johnny Carson's choice to retire, with Tasso & Suzanne this was not their choice. I believe this is an economic decision and not because people needed to hear more music. The amount of emails the station has received is your answer. Sometimes you should not touch things that are not broken...

WHO did CTV interview? Certainly not me! Although one listener may not make a difference, this one will no longer tune in to Q92 in the mornings. Sorry Aaron but I want to have Tasso and Suzanne at your side.
