Laval police arrested two men this week and seized 105,000 contraband cigarettes, aided in part by a bold dealer.

The city's tobacco squad, which was set up just over a year ago, began the investigation in late July when they learned one of the dealers was handing out business cards.

This week two men were arrested, including a 51-year-old man from Boisbriand who police say has been stopped five times in the past year.

Inside his car police found 40,000 cigarettes.

A 45-year-old man is accused of supplying the illegal smokes.

Police say they found 65,000 cigarettes in his Fabreville home, along with $15,000 in cash and 7 grams of cocaine.

The two men face fines of $90,000.

Business cards handed out

Laval police officer Francois Dumais says tracking down the two men was possible because they were handing out cards at Bingo Halls, AA meetings, and seniors' residences.

"He was using business card. He was giving that business card to everybody at many places in laval area, and the north shore too," said Dumais.

The men were allegedly selling the cigarettes at $25 for 200.
