The good ol' boys of Nascar are back in town for the third edition of the Napa Auto Parts 200 at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

This year's race includes many of the sport's top drivers, as well as five Quebec racers.

Alex Tagliani, Patrick Carpentier, Jacques Villeneuve, Andrew Ranger and Jean-Francois Dumoulin will all suit up for this weekend's Nationwide series race.

"I think it's a tribute to all the work that the promoter did and his staff," said Tagliani. "I think it's going to pay off."

Patrick Carpentier is taking part in his third Napa Auto Parts race weekend, and after finishing second in the first two races, the Joliette native is hoping the third time is a charm.

"But it's gonna be tough. This year's there's no spring cup race," said Carpentier.

Jacques Villeneuve had a very good race in 2008. He held the lead for a short while and was running sixth before a caution dropped him to 16th.

"Last year was a big discovery, first race in the wet for Nascar. We're well prepared this year," said Villeneuve. "We're coming here to race at the front and try and win."

22-year-old Andrew Ranger finished 28th in the nationwide series event last year in Montreal after winning the Canadian Tire race.

The drivers will hit the track Saturday morning for practice followed by qualifying in the afternoon.
