Montreal police say Friday's evacuation of Ahuntsic College was the result of a misunderstood school project.
Students, teachers and staff were ordered out of the cegep Friday at 4 p.m. when someone sent a threatening note to a student.
Police searched the school and traced the message to a 21-year-old man who was in Dorval.
The man was arrested and questioned by police, which revealed the message was actually part of a class assignment.
It turns out the person who reported the threat took the message out of context.
The 21-year-old man was released without charges.
