The RCMP used dogs and helicopters to raid a contraband tobacco operation near the Akwesasne Mohawk reserve southwest of Montreal.
Mounties arrested nine people and they seized more than one ton of contraband on the shore of Lake Saint-Francois in Saint-Anicet.
Police also confiscated four vehicles, a trailer and two boats.
The suspects face charges of possession. They range in age from 19 to 49 years old.
