A man is facing charges after a car chase in May left one teenager dead and another injured near near St. Roch L'Achigan, 45 kilometres north of Montreal.

Marc-Andre Chicoine Blain, 16, died in hospital after the car he and a 15-year-old friend had stolen lost control, flipped several times and hit a tree. He was the passenger.

Police say the teens stole the $1,500 car from Martin Piche's driveway and raced off. Piche pursued them for 20 kilometres down a series of country roads until the driver of the car the boys were in missed a curve and crashed, police allege.

Piche faced charges Friday of dangerous driving and negligence.

The teenager's mother said she is relieved someone is finally facing charges.

"We want justice," she says. "I can't take the law into my own hands, so I can only wait."
