Longueuil police have a new lead in the search for a missing priest.

Gilles Lacroix was last seen Monday, Aug. 31, driving in Iberville.

On Saturday his car, a brown Ford Focus, was found in a corn field near the intersection of Montbrun Blvd. and Route 132 in Boucherville.

Police have searched the area with sniffer dogs, but have yet to find any additional signs of Lacroix.

The car is now in the hands of forensic investigators who will try to determine if anyone else was in the car besides Lacroix.

Lacroix was agitated.

Police say the 76-year-old priest had seemed agitated, nervous and sometimes incoherent in the days before his disappearance.

He's white, French-speaking, 5'10" and 170 pounds.

Lacroix has brown hair and eyes and might be wearing glasses.

Anyone with information about Lacroix is asked to call 911.
