Many Quebec drivers miserably failed a CAA safety blitz at six school zones across the province on Wednesday.

The CAA posted observers in front of elementary schools in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, Sherbrooke, Drummondville and Quebec City.

Observers found that drivers committed 435 infractions in just two hours.

They included blowing through the school zone and ignoring crossing guards.

One parent was even observed driving with the door to their minivan wide open, child inside.

The CAA says the numbers are cause for worry, especially since two of the locations had police surveillance at the time.
