RCMP are continuing to investigate the disappearance of a 24-year-old man who has been missing since May.

The family of Martin Daniel Francis Belanger travelled from Quebec to appeal to the public to generate any tips about their son's disappearance.

Francis and Jinette Belanger came to Alberta to meet with RCMP Monday.

Belanger was last seen leaving his Spruce Grove home in his maroon-coloured 2006 Ford F150 on May 22nd, 2009.

The man moved to Alberta from Quebec last September to pursue a career in the trades. Belanger's parents said he was living with his girlfriend Claudia at the time of his disappearance.

In late August, Claudia gave birth to their daughter, Martia. Belanger's girlfriend told police he left their home back in May to run a quick errand and was scheduled to return right away, but never did.

On July 6th, RCMP made a development in the case when they received a call about an abandoned truck in a Tomahawk parking lot.

Police confirmed that the 2006 Ford F150 belonged to Belanger.

The vehicle was examined by investigators and the RCMP are treating the man's disappearance as a suspicious.

He was last seen wearing:

  • A white T-Shirt with green and red stripes.
  • Blue jean shorts, and blue Nike shoes.

He is described as:

  • Approximately five-foot-eight.
  • Has blond hair and blue eyes.
