A woman in her early 50s suffered head trauma after she was hit by a car while crossing the street at 3 a.m. Sunday morning in Notre-Dame-de-Grace.

The woman was jaywalking and was likely intoxicated, said Montreal police.

She was walking northbound where Cote St. Antoine Rd. intersects with Sherbrooke St. when she was hit by a car headed westbound on Cote St. Antoine.

The victim was taken to hospital where she is in stable condition. The driver was treated for shock.
