As police continue the search for a missing Piedmont woman, her car has turned up on a street behind her workplace at Correctional Service of Canada in the Laval-des-Rapides district.

Natasha Cournoyer, 37, was last spotted on surveillance cameras leaving the office tower at Place Laval at St. Martin and Industriel Blvds. at 8 p.m. Thursday. No one has seen or heard from her since.

Her car was found some distance from her office. Police used search dogs to comb a wooded area behind the parking lot of her workplace for clues.

There were no signs of violence or a struggle around her car.

Cournoyer's boyfriend and family called police yesterday after she failed to keep an appointment Friday morning. They said it's unlike her to have disappeared without a trace.

Police don't believe her position at the correctional office had anything to do with the disappearance.

"She works at the communications part so she's not in contact with any criminal person or anything like this. So right now the investigation tells us that it's not related to her job," said Laval police Sgt. Francois Dumais.

Cournoyer is five-foot-five, weighs 115 pounds, and has blond hair and blue eyes. She is Caucasian and speaks French.
