Tenants at an NDG apartment building are expected to have their heat turned back on by Wednesday.
The landlord for the apartment building at 2290 Girouard Ave. removed the heating system in the summer and told tenants it would be upgraded.
But months later, with temperatures dipping, the heating system has still not been replaced and residents have been increasingly frustrated.
After CTV reported on the situation Monday, the city met with the owner of the building. He promised to have adequate heating units installed for his tenants within 48 hours.
Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough mayor Michael Applebaum said the city will follow up to make sure that the landlord keeps his word.
