MONTREAL - George W. Bush will give a speech this week at a Montreal hotel made famous as the site where John Lennon and Yoko Ono helped define the peace movement of a generation.

Anti-war protesters plan to demonstrate this Thursday outside the Queen Elizabeth Hotel during the former U.S. president's appearance.

Lennon and Ono recorded the anti-war anthem "Give Peace a Chance" during their bed-in at the hotel 40 years ago at the height of the Vietnam War.

Protest organizer Raymond Legault says it's ironic that Bush is scheduled to speak in the same building.

But Legault says his group's demonstration will primarily focus on the wars Bush triggered in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Bush was invited to speak by the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal.

He is expected to reminisce about his time in the White House and discuss challenges the world will face in the future.

Tickets for the event cost as much as $400 each and organizers are predicting a sell out at the 1,000-seat venue.
