The president of the Union of Quebec Municipalities is urging voters to go to polls in the upcoming municipal election Nov. 1.

Following a series of allegations of corruption and collusion in municipal politics, Robert Coulombe says voters cannot afford to be cynical and apathetic.

Coulombe says people should go out and vote in large numbers to ensure they have a say in the future of their municipalities.

He believes people may have a hard time distinguishing between what's true and what's false, but in depth investigations will eventually shed light on the allegations.

Coulombe also says people shouldn't complain about the way in which cities are managed unless they take part in the voting process.
