Quebec City Mayor Regis Labeaume cruised to an easy victory Sunday night.

Labeaume dominated with 80 per cent of the vote. Jeff Fillion and Yonnel Bonaventure each won 8 per cent of the vote.

Labeaume was first elected into the seat in December 2007 in a special election following the death of former mayor Andre Boucher.

He was elected with over 59 per cent of the popular vote, defeating popular candidate Ann Bourget.

By 5 p.m. 39 per cent of the population, or 396,000 people, cast their ballots.
