Montreal police have been called in to investigate after Surete du Quebec officers shot and killed a man in the Outaouais region.
It happened Sunday evening in Papineauville, about 140 kilometres west of Montreal.
The SQ had received a 911 call around 7:3 0 p.m. and when they entered an apartment building, they say a man charged at them with a knife.
Officers shot and killed the man, and he was pronounced dead in hospital.
As is the custom in Quebec, an outside police force is called in whenever a civilian is injured or killed during a police operation.
