A 19-year-old man will face charges of drunk driving causing death following a crash on the south shore.
It happened just before midnight in Varennes.
The driver lost control and the car flipped over several times.
The passenger was ejected and died from his injuries.
The driver managed to get to a house nearby and called 911.
He is in serious but stable condition in hospital and may require surgery.
Richelieu-St-Laurent police say he is not in any condition to appear in court at this time but will face charges once he recovers.
