The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in conjunction with the city of Montreal, has issued a recall notice for spices made and sold in Montreal.
Inspectors say a spice mix used to marinate meat should not be eaten because it may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum.
The containers, which are supposed to be refrigerated, are labelled "Epices Pam, Tel: (514) 322-4993."
The small spice company is located in Montreal north, and its products are sold out of a home in the neighbourhood, as well as at several stores.
Food contaminated with Clostridium may not look or smell spoiled.
Anyone who has the marinade mix should return it to the place they bought it.
