Quebec City's four vaccination centres will be closed Monday and Tuesday, because the region's H1N1 vaccine supply is running short.

Health officials said Sunday morning said only 20,000 doses remain, but do expect to replenish the supply by mid-week.

Record inoculations

In Montreal, a record 26,000 people were vaccinated Saturday. As many as 1.3 million people have now received the shot.

Officials are continuing to urge those in priority groups to be vaccinated, which as of Friday include family members of those with compromised immune systems, those who live with children between 6 months and five years of age, and young people between the ages of five and 19.

A new mass vaccination clinic is set to open Monday at Palais des Congres.
