Several police forces swooped down on suspected biker associates Wednesday morning in the second phase of a five-month drug crackdown in central Quebec.

Officers arrested 10 people in Drummondville, Shawinigan, Victoriaville and La Tuque just before dawn.

Four others were being sought on arrest warrants.

All are accused of having drug-trafficking ties to Hells Angels chapters in Montreal and Trois-Rivieres.

The suspects face multiple charges.

The raids, dubbed Alanine and Carapace, were carried out by a regional squad comprised of the Surete du Quebec and local police forces.

Earlier raids

The first phase of the operation was carried out in June when police nabbed 15 suspected drug dealers following a five-year investigation. The 15 suspects have all since been freed on a promise to appear later.
