The management of Quebec newspaper "La Presse" has reached an agreement in principle with some of its unionized employees.
Editorial staff, office employees, and IT staff, all affiliated with CSN, have agreed to fine-tune details of a new contract in the near future.
Publishing and distribution workers will meet with management on Friday to work out an agreement.
Managers of the newspaper have said in the past they will be forced to shut down the daily broadsheet on December 1 because expenses were out of control.
