Premier Jean Charest unveiled an ambitious plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on Monday, stating that Quebec will cut its emissions by 20 per cent from 1990 levels by 2020.

Reducing the province's emissions to eight million tonnes would place Quebec among North American leaders with the lowest level of emissions per habitant on the continent, Charest said.

Quebec plans to make a number of changes to reach those target levels, ranging from investing in public transit to slowly eliminating oil heating systems.

Charest added that Canada's plan to reduce its emissions by three per cent from its 1990 levels is not sufficient.

Although I agree we should worry about the level of pollution... more and more evidence is being found that proves the global warming scare is a huge organized fraud.

Bruce you might think that GW is a fraud but what about the increase in pollution in our air. There are many statistics out to back up that that air pollution is increasing every year. More and more Canadians are being diagnosed with Cancers and asthma do think that is just by chance? Cutting toxic gases from my air is fine with me, and the environment.
