Montreal food establishments continue to be firebombed by mystery attackers in Montreal.
Two eateries were attacked on Monday morning, including one that was hit for the second time in a week.
There have now been eight such attacks north of downtown since late October.
At around 6:15 Monday morning, someone threw a Molotov cocktail through the window of Nouba restaurant at 5337 St. Laurent blvd in Plateau district.
Witnesses called 911 after seeing broken glass and flames inside the restaurant.
About 45 minutes later, Cafe Vegas was attacked at 2670 Jean-Talon in St. Michel.
In both cases the front windows of the businesses were broken and a molotov cocktail was thrown in.
Firefighters quickly extinguished both fires and damages were minimal.
Arson investigators will now try to determine if there is a link between these incidents and recent attacks in several locations.
Nouba a repeat target
Nouba restaurant has now suffered two attacks since last week.
A Molotov cocktail was thrown through the window on Nov. 15. Someone had also thrown a makeshift explosive into a nearby residential unit where the restaurant owner lives.
People were inside the home, but no one was hurt.
Motive?
Unlike the other seven resto-bars, which are Italian owned, Nouba is Greek owned.
The owner, John Zoumis, told CTV's Stephane Giroux that he suspects his former business partner attracted trouble.
"My ex partner doesn't work here anymore, so it shouldn't happen anymore," Zoumis said.
Investigators say finding leads isn't easy, because no one is talking.
"Getting people to cooperate these days is a little difficult," said Andre Leclair of the Montreal police.
No arrests have been made in any of the attacks so far.
