The City of Montreal has chosen its official Olympic torchbearer to carry the torch during the relay to the 2010 Winter Games.
Guylaine Bernier, who competed with Canada's rowing team during the 1976 games, will carry the flame on December 10.
"I was very excited, very excited," said Bernier. "I said how long do I have to run, 'cause I'm not a good runner and it was kind of a big surprise and I was very proud to be chosen."
She's been very involved in Montreal's sports scene as a volunteer and the director of the National Multisports Centre.
