Laval police have arrested a 52-year-old man in connection with the murder of his wife.

The body of Marie-Pascale Proulx was found inside the couple's home on Juliette Street, Friday morning.

Police went there after receiving a 911 call.

However, when they got to the house, the male caller was no longer there.

They launched a province-wide search for the victim's husband, Jacques Sauve.

He was found in the Quebec City area Friday night.

Police spent hours questioning him before formally arresting him Saturday.

Charges are expected to follow.

The couple's two children, both under the age of ten, are now with other family members.

They were not home when their mother's body was found.

The couple worked at Canada Post, though Sauve was off on sick leave.

Police suspect the Proulx may have been killed following a domestic dispute.

There were marks of violence on her body.
