OTTAWA - Ottawa says the number of Canadians killed in the Haitian earthquake has gone up to 58.

The department of foreign affairs has released its final figures on Canadians caught in the massive quake which rocked Haiti in January.

The number of Canadian deaths was previously ranked at 46, with 14 unaccounted for.

Foreign affairs says the new number is their "best assessment" of citizens lost in the disaster.

The department says all 1,911 Canadians in Haiti have now been accounted for.

The 7.0 magnitude quake killed approximately 200,000 people accordingly to local estimates.

Canada has pledged $400 million in money and debt relief for Haiti over two years.
