For the next seven days downtown Montreal is going to be the smartest place around.

Concordia University is hosting a massive academic meeting called Congress 2010.

A total of 9,000 academics from across Canada will converge on Concordia for the 79th annual Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences.

As host, the university is highlighting some of the innovative research and projects it has to offer, including smart clothing that responds to the human body's pulse and temperature.

Many of the activities are open to the general public.
