Paul McCartney fans are gearing up for a huge night.

For the first time in 21 years, the former Beatle is playing a concert in Montreal.

In 1989 he played to a sold-out crowd at the Forum, and Thursday night he'll face an even larger crowd at the Forum's replacement, the Bell Centre.

16,000 fans are clutching tickets, and the most eager fans started lining up to get into the event Thursday afternoon.

The 68-year-old musician is expected to play three hours of his greatest hits -- and he has a stunning catalogue to choose from -- without an intermission.

Fan has his own museum at home

One of the diehard fans at the show is Michel Guillemette, who has a treasure trove of Beatlemania.

"I call it my own museum," said Guillemette as he displayed his albums and souvenirs to a CTV reporter.

Guillemette was turned on to the Beatles at age 13 by his father.

Now aged 31 and about to become a dad himself, Guillemette has collected over 800 recordings of his favourite Beatle, Sir Paul, playing with the Fab Four, other artists, or from his solo career.

"So let's say if Paul McCartney plays on Michael Jackson, I have the Michael Jackson CD," Guillemette explained.

Guillemette has met Pete Best -- the band's first drummer -- and seen Ringo perform four times.

Thursday's show will be his fourth time seeing McCartney.

"During his last tour I went to see him in Washington," said Guillemette, and it was there he picked up a special edition CD.

"You could not buy this CD, it was only if you bought a Lexus."

Meanwhile fans who could not snag tickets to Thursday's show can always go to Verdun.

the four lads from Beatles cover band Day Tripper will be performing at George O'Reilly park.
