The winner of the largest lottery jackpot ever won in Quebec has very happily quit his job.

55-year-old Bernard Grenier had just come back from a camping trip on Sunday when he realized he was $37.6 million richer than when he went on vacation

The very next day he quit his job as a mechanic..

Grenier met reporters on Thursday morning when he was presented with a giant cheque for the full amount of his winnings from the Lotto Max lottery.

His uncle Yvan says Grenier is ecstatic, but plans to keep on playing the lottery.

"He's very proud for that," said Yvan Grenier. "He wants to win $50 million now."

Grenier, who has three adult children, now plans to buy a new car and move to a house that he's had his eye on.

His lottery win was the second jackpot nabbed by Quebecers this month.

Last week a group near Saguenay won $25 million in another Lotto Max jackpot.

But don't expect lottery winnings to come in threes. The odds of winning the grand prize in the lottery are one in 28.6 million.
