MONTREAL - A 28-year-old woman died Sunday following what police believe is a case of domestic violence.

Responding to a call over a dispute, police arrived at an apartment on Archeveque St. in Montreal North at 2:40 a.m. to discover the woman, who was suffering from stab wounds.

She was taken to hospital, where she died shortly after arrival, said Montreal police Const. Raphael Bergeron.

"At this point, the major crimes unit is still looking for the victim's boyfriend," said Bergeron, pointing to him as their prime suspect.

He is a 34-year-old man driving a 2000 black Honda CRV, licence plate 488 PXM.

This is the 32nd homicide of the year, surpassing last year's total of 31.
