Montreal police are looking for other potential victims who might have been sexually assaulted by a coach in a minor hockey league.

Gilbert Dube, 55, was arrested and appeared in court on October 21st.

He faced six charges, including sexual molestation, sexual exploitation and sexual interference.

The charges stem back to events that allegedly took place in December of 2009.

His accusers— two boys around 12 years of age— came forward last week.

They are from Montreal North and Ste. Eustache.

Police say since Dube has been coaching for many years throughout the city, there may be other victims.

"We're asking parents and kids to come forward to police," said Montreal police constable Olivier Lapointe.

"Of course, it's not easy, we understand that," he added, but noted specialists would be available to speak with those come forward.

Dube also pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation in 1993, and in 1995, he faced assault charges.

Phil Mariotti, who has a child playing hockey, said that history should have prevented Dube from coaching.

"Anything related to sexual misconduct, absolutely, they should be excluded from participating in such activities," he said.

Hockey mom Antoinette Fiore agreed.

"We have to send out children with some confidence knowing there's some kind of background check. This is public information and there is no justification that the organization should not have found this," she said.
