LONGUEUIL - Thirteen people were arrested Tuesday at a Brossard hotel following an investigation into what police believe was an escort agency.

Longueuil police say the escort agency on Taschereau Boulevard on the south shore of Montreal had been in operation for several months, with advertisements for their services appearing in local newspapers.

Nine suspected employees, aged between 25 and 45, as well as three suspected clients were arrested.

The investigation led police to a residence in Saint-Philippe in the Montérégie region where the alleged leader of the agency, a 37-year-old woman, was also arrested.

Further arrests are expected in the case, police say.

About $7,000 was seized in the raid, as well as a list of agency clients and other documents.
