Kids stuck in the Montreal Children's Hospital for the holidays got to see the off-white ward spruced up with a little bleu, blanc, rouge Wednesday.

Members of the Montreal Canadiens continued a 46-year tradition by visiting the young patients.

"They teach us a lesson. We're more excited to see them than they are to see us," said Habs winger Mathieu Darche.

The event serves as an opportunity to give back to the young fans who need cheering up the most, something captain Brian Gionta said as a parent, he understands.

"Now that I have a kid, it really hits home. You really feel for everyone in here and what they're going through," said Gionta.

As for the kids? Needless to say they were thrilled.

Young Cameron Fullerton's day was made by having his shirt signed by NHL stars.

"It's just really awesome," he said.
