Sorry folks, I'm not going to go on and on about Saku Koivu, because I've already done that once tonight.

Instead, I just wish to point out that lost in the dust cloud of emotion left by Koivu's eventful return to Montreal, the Canadiens picked up yet another point in the standings.

Since a dreadful 4-1 loss in Tampa on Dec. 30, the Canadiens have only lost one game in regulation time, putting together a 7-1-3 record.

That's 17 out of a possible 22 points in the wake of losing Josh Gorges to a season-ending knee injury. That also corresponds nearly perfectly to the time James Wisniewski has been on the team.

Wiz led the Habs in ice time in this comeback 4-3 shootout loss (if that is possible) with 30:30 of ice time. He had seven of his shot attempts blocked, and I would imagine a lot of them came on the power play as the Ducks appeared intent not to let him shoot from the middle of the ice.

But that cleared up P.K. Subban on the left side to fire one-timers, and even though he too had seven attempts blocked, six others hit the net and three missed. That's 16 shot attempts for the young buck, a pretty impressive night's work.

Not so coincidentally, the power over the last 11 games has gone a whopping 12-for-39, a 30.7 per cent success rate. After starting the year on a 3-for-47 run in the first 14 games, the Canadiens have climbed to a tie for eighth in the NHL on the power play by going 46-for-123 over the past 35 games, a whopping 37.4 per cent efficiency rate.

Not too shabby.
