ST-LIN-DES-LAURENTIDES - A 45-year-old Montreal man is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday to face charges of murdering a St. Lin woman.

Police say the suspect is related to Linda Loiselle, but is not her boyfriend nor the father of her child.

Loiselle's body was discovered Monday morning in her home in the quiet community of St. Lin, a town 50 kilometers north of Montreal.

Loiselle's physically-disabled 20-year-old son was found in the basement of the home at 612 Bernard. The severely-handicapped man, who is bound to a wheelchair, was unable to feed himself for several days. He was suffering from severe dehydration. He was transported to a hospital where he has been receiving treatment.

Police say that it appears that Loiselle's body, found on the first-floor of the suburban bungalow, had been in the home for several days.

Neighbours say that Loiselle had been living with her son and a dog in the house for the last five years. Some believe she lived with her boyfriend but nobody was entirely certain as the family spoke rarely to neighbours.

Visibly shaken neighbour Yves Leger said, "No one has to die like that."

The suspect was arrested after Montreal police alerted the SQ following their questioning of a man in their custody. They will not say whether or not the suspect had turned himself in.
