Two brothers from Nova Scotia pleaded guilty to first degree murder Wednesday for the shooting deaths of three men, including two who were shot in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant in NDG a year ago.

Timothy Simpson, 45, and his brother Robert Simpson, 48, told Superior Court Judge André Vincent they were hired to kill Kirk Murray over a drug transaction, executing the hit at the St-Jacques St. McDonald's location.

The second victim, Antonio Onesi, was Murray's driver and shot because he was an inconvenient witness.

The two brothers cut a deal with police that will have them testify against the man who hired them, former Halifax Hells Angels member Jeffrey Lynds. Lynds was also arrested at around the same time as the Simpson brothers last summer.

The brothers also pleaded guilty to the murder of a third man, Longueuil drug trafficker Mark Stewart, who was kidnapped and killed in February of last year.
