MONTREAL - A suspect is in custody after a 25-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Tuesday night.
Montreal police say they received a call around 10 p.m. to an apartment building on Ste-Catherine St. East, near Leclair St., in response to a complaint of excessive noise.
A 32-year-old man was arrested trying to flee the scene.
The woman's death was confirmed on site by paramedics.
Police say the victim and the suspect are not known to police, and the investigation is ongoing.
This is the ninth homicide in Montreal this year.
