There are still no signs of a missing three-year-old boy as the search continued Saturday in Laval.

Adam Benhamama disappeared outside a home in the Auteuil district on Sunday.

Police officers, firefighters and emergency workers have combed the nearby Mille Iles River, as well as a heavily wooded area near where he vanished.

Warm weather Saturday dried up some of the marshland in the woods and made the search easier, where pockets of water as deep as four feet made looking for Adam both difficult and dangerous.

Police asked a team of volunteers to abstain from searching, due to the danger involved.

Police and family say that while there is little chance the boy will be found alive, they continue to hold out hope.

"They have to find him for the family-- so they're making all the efforts and searching every stone and every corner of the grounds to find Adam," said Laval police spokesperson Simon Charette Saturday.

Firefighters and divers searched the chilly waters of the Mille Iles River, where they believe Adam, who has autism and is hearing and speech impaired, may have been drawn.

Divers did not search the waters Saturday, but a helicopter continued to hover over the spot. Searchers hope to have 80 per cent of the ground search completed Saturday and will again focus on the water Sunday.

Family members, as well as members of the Moroccan community, have gathered near the site of the young boy's disappearance to offer support to the Benhamamas.

"We are all devastated. We just lost a big part of our family," said family friend Chaker Chraibi.
