St. Aidan's in Wentworth - not far from Lachute - was robbed sometime this week.
Two stained glass windows - including one depicting St. Aidan - were stolen.
It's the third church targeted since the beginning of April.
A church in Grenville was robbed of 14 windows and St. Paul's in Dunany lost a pane of stained glass dating back 130 years
"I think it's a shopping list that thieves are given," says Gail Turbull, St. Aidan's Treasurer. "And windows seem to be in the list."
The thieves tried to steal at least four more but the windows were so well screwed-in. They broke during the theft and were left behind.
"It seems there must be a buyer or somebody who's interested in these kinds of articles," says Ed Kasprzyk, Wentworth Mayor, who bemoans the fact that there are likely too few provincial police officers in the area to prevent such crimes.
The church plans to purchase a security system but concedes that they probably won't see the stained glass ever again.
Stained glass art can be valuable. What is believed to be the most expensive piece of stained glass in Canada was sold at auction in 2007 for $300,000.
