MONTREAL - Montrealers can sometimes be grumpy but Tuesday night was not one of those times.

The city was all smiles as the Habs staved off elimination, beating the Bruins to force a Game Seven.

A sample of quotes from people who followed the game revealed the unbridled joy that the 2-1 squeaker brought.

"It was a good game and they deserved to win," said one.

"We played strong defence and didn't cough up the puck," said another.

During the third period many were nervous that the game would be tied.

"I'm on the edge, I'm very nervous," said one bar patron watching the game on TV.

When it was over all Habs fans would agree with this comment: "The Habs played huge."

And all Canadiens fans would want to agree with this statement made by another aficionado.

"They do well under pressure and hopefully tomorrow will be another one. Go Habs go"
