SAINTE JULIENNE - A body has been discovered in the freezer of a home where a family member was arrested in connection with a murder two years ago.

Police received a tip on Thursday from someone claiming there was a body in the home located in the town of Sainte Julienne, about 65 kilometres north of Montreal.

Officers raided the home, found the male corpse, and arrested a 39-year-old woman. They spent Friday morning interrogating her and are so far recommending charges of indignity to human remains.

An autopsy will need to be conducted on the body to determine the man's identity.

At this point police cannot say if the man was killed or died from other causes.

"It's too early to make any conclusion about that," said SQ officer Claude Denis. "We have to wait first for the identification and we have to wait for the autopsy."

When asked, Denis said that the body "seems to be in one piece."

Adding a bizarre twist to the story, Giroux said the husband of the woman who was arrested has been in jail for the past two years, after being arrested in connection with a death that took place in the backyard of the home.

According to reports from neighbours the home is often the scene of fights and loud arguments.

Giroux said two children, aged 9 and 11, were taken into custody by Quebec's Child Services department on Friday morning.

The children will be questioned by police.
